On one fine Sunday morning I saw CAT advertisement in paper. It showed that 8thOctober is the last day for the sale of forms. We still had 30 days. But I thought to make it on that day itself, so, I started to Axis bank after my breakfast. On my way to bank I felt happy that I’m doing things so quickly prior to all, but I was feeling like I missed out something. I told to myself that ‘I got habituated of doing things on the last minute... so, I’m feeling like missing something’. I went to axis bank; to my ill luck it was closed. Then I remembered that it’s Sunday. Then I understood why I was making out things faster. I thought to make it by Wednesday and get registered in prometric website. But it didn’t happen so. As always I gave a head start for my actions.... but as my hobby and my weakness I didn’t complete it....!!
As usual I forgot about CAT and was enjoying but I was happy that I joined in TIME and taking de course seriously. I of course missed many classes but compared to my B.Tech classes they were few. So I didn’t care about them much neither I attended back up classes. On 8th October, Abhishek called me and told that it is the last day to buy CAT voucher. Sud, shake, shiva and myself went and bought the voucher card. I was surprised after looking at voucher card. I thought it would be something like a bulletin and have a great info about CAT but it is just like a wedding card.
As, sudhesh, my buddy wanted me to write CAT with him on de same day and at same venue. We thought of registering together. We planned to go to Shiva’s place and register. We planned to give in the morning as there were two slots per day. So, it was like... Exam Date: 2nd Dec, Exam centre: K.G.Reddy Engineering College. The first part was over, I registered for Cat exam and I was happy. While coming to my place I had my voucher card with me in my hand. Thoughts darted through my mind about that voucher card; I made a rocket with that voucher card and threwed it on a small baby. She was happy, she gave an awesome smile. But at that I never knew that even voucher card is to be carried to the exam hall. I made rocket with my voucher card to make a baby feel happy.... Oops, I know I know I know I’m an idiot....!
Anyways, as usual I was not much worried. I kept on waiting for the dat to come. Even though I didn’t prepare much for CAT, I prepared morally to give my xam at my level best. At 10 pm on 1st dec I saw the mail which prometric has sent to me. They asked me to bring a photo identification card, a print out copy of the particular mail and Voucher Card. Thx to my buddy who brought my print outs. We started early to the centre as it is some 30kms from my place. It's a winter mrng with temp around 5-10 degrees. My hands were freezing while driving de bike, but I never dropped the speed below 100kmph. I was the first student to reach the centre. I guess it was after some 7 years I reached the place before de time. Slowly pple started coming. I can see the tension in their faces. Some carried pouches, some carried boxes, and some carried some buks, some of them carried nothing like me. The climate was awesome. Nice cool breeze was blowing. I liked it very much.

After some time I went to a counter and registered over there. They asked me wait in a class room. Though only our presence with an admit card and id proof was needed at the centre still I carried a pen and a pencil in case of emergency (after the experience of JTO’s xam...) now... Instead of taking us directly to the xam lab.. they asked us to sit in a classroom. They gave a short speech abt the online xam.. Before going, as a formality they checked us. I was asked to go for a security checking even though I was carrying nothing except a admit card and my wallet. After seeing the size of my wallet he asked me to put it in a cover and handle it to the security guard. Then he frisked me as if I was a terrorist who came to blow up the examination centre. Then I went it the lab, they asked us to follow a Q. They took my face scanning and finger prints. Thankfully like in jail I didn’t have to hold a slate in my hands with my name and CAT registration number written on it. Finally, after prometric pple were sure that no candidate is a replacement of MunnaBhai they asked us to take our respective seats. Beside me there was a beautiful gal. We just had a short introduction’s. When I asked her about her preparation she told with lots of confidence that she prepared well. But her mouse was not working properly. I thought ohhh this is the gal whose mouse is not working properly and she came to crack the CAT.
They told to click OK to get question paper, but when I clicked I got a error message. Hmmm........ I thought my xam got cancelled. (I was laughing inside...) I dint feel tensed but the prometric organizer got tensed. I saw him sweating. He told me to relax in a chair. He did sumthing and my xam got started within 2 min... I finished the xam, came out and met sud. He was happy dat his xam went really well. Even I was cool as usual. Hehe...
Next... it’s ntng. It’s all over for me. I just have to wait for the RESULT.
